Psalm 72:1-7

1 Give the king thy judgments, O God, and thy righteousness unto the king's son.

2 He shall judge thy people with righteousness, and thy poor with judgment.

3 The mountains shall bring peace to the people, and the little hills, by righteousness.

4 He shall judge the poor of the people, he shall save the children of the needy, and shall break in pieces the oppressor.

5 They shall fear thee as long as the sun and moon endure, throughout all generations.

6 He shall come down like rain upon the mown grass: as showers that water the earth.

7 In his days shall the righteous flourish; and abundance of peace so long as the moon endureth.

God directed the pen of the Old Testament prophets. We can read the words Jesus spoke while He was on the Cross long before Jesus was born in Bethlehem within the Old Testament.

Psalm 22 was written around 1,200 years before Jesus' birth. Below we read Jesus' prayer. It as if you can read the words Jesus spoke while hanging on the Cross, and below that we read the prayer just before His death while He walked the earth asking God the Father to help men live in peace and unity.

Psalm 22 (Psalm 22 - A Prayer from the Cross: Old Testament; ~1,200 BC)

For the director of music. To [the tune of] "The Doe of the Morning." A psalm of David.

1 My God, my God, why have you forsaken me? Why are you so far from saving me, so far from the words of my groaning?

2 O my God, I cry out by day, but you do not answer, by night, and am not silent.

3 Yet you are enthroned as the Holy One; you are the praise of Israel.

4 In you our fathers put their trust; they trusted and you delivered them.

5 They cried to you and were saved; in you they trusted and were not disappointed.

6 But I am a worm and not a man, scorned by men and despised by the people.

7 All who see me mock me; they hurl insults, shaking their heads:

8 "He trusts in the LORD; let the LORD rescue him. Let him deliver him, since he delights in him."

9 Yet you brought me out of the womb; you made me trust in you even at my mother's breast.

10 From birth I was cast upon you; from my mother's womb you have been my God.

11 Do not be far from me, for trouble is near and there is no one to help.

12 Many bulls surround me; strong bulls of Bashan encircle me.

13 Roaring lions tearing their prey open their mouths wide against me.

14 I am poured out like water, and all my bones are out of joint. My heart has turned to wax; it has melted away within me.

15 My strength is dried up like a potsherd, and my tongue sticks to the roof of my mouth; you lay me in the dust of death.

16 Dogs have surrounded me; a band of evil men has encircled me,

they have pierced my hands and my feet.

17

I can count all my bones; people stare and gloat over me.

18

They divide my garments among them and cast lots for my clothing.

19 But you, O LORD, be not far off; O my Strength, come quickly to help me.

20 Deliver my life from the sword, my precious life from the power of the dogs.

21 Rescue me from the mouth of the lions; save me from the horns of the wild oxen.

22 I will declare your name to my brothers; in the congregation I will praise you.

23 You who fear the LORD, praise him! All you descendants of Jacob, honor him! Revere him, all you descendants of Israel!

24 For he has not despised or disdained the suffering of the afflicted one; he has not hidden his face from him but has listened to his cry for help.

25 From you comes the theme of my praise in the great assembly;

before those who fear you will I fulfill my vows.

26 The poor will eat and be satisfied; they who seek the LORD will praise him - may your hearts live forever!

27 All the ends of the earth will remember and turn to the LORD, and all the families of the nations will bow down before him,

28 for dominion belongs to the LORD and he rules over the nations.

29 All the rich of the earth will feast and worship; all who go down to the dust will kneel before him - those who cannot keep themselves alive.

30 Posterity will serve him; future generations will be told about the Lord.

31

They will proclaim his righteousness to a people yet unborn - for he has done it.

NIV

Verse 16 and 18 above was literally fulfilled while Jesus hung on the Cross some 1,200 years after the scripture was penned. Verse 16 also corresponds to a prophecy in Zacharia written ~ 500 BC; Old Testament: "

They will look upon me, the One they have pierced..."

Below in The Book of John is Jesus' prayer just before He was arrested at His final hours on earth.

John 17:1-26

1 and lifting up His eyes to heaven, He said, "Father, the hour has come; glorify Your Son, that the Son may glorify You,

2 even as You gave Him authority over all flesh, that to all whom You have given Him, He may give eternal life.

3 "This is eternal life, that they may know You, the only true God, and Jesus Christ whom You have sent.

4 "I glorified You on the earth, having accomplished the work which You have given Me to do.

5 "Now, Father, glorify Me together with Yourself, with the glory which I had with You before the world was.

6 "I have manifested Your name to the men whom You gave Me out of the world; they were Yours and You gave them to Me, and they have kept Your word.

7 "Now they have come to know that everything You have given Me is from You;

8 for the words which You gave Me I have given to them; and they received them and truly understood that I came forth from You, and they believed that You sent Me.

9 "I ask on their behalf; I do not ask on behalf of the world, but of those whom You have given Me; for they are Yours;

10 and all things that are Mine are Yours, and Yours are Mine; and I have been glorified in them.

11 "I am no longer in the world; and yet they themselves are in the world, and I come to You. Holy Father, keep them in Your name, the name which You have given Me, that they may be one even as We are.

12 "While I was with them, I was keeping them in Your name which You have given Me; and I guarded them and not one of them perished but the son of perdition, so that the Scripture would be fulfilled.

13 The Disciples in the World "But now I come to You; and these things I speak in the world so that they may have My joy made full in themselves.

14 "I have given them Your word; and the world has hated them, because they are not of the world, even as I am not of the world.

15 "I do not ask You to take them out of the world, but to keep them from the evil one.

16 "They are not of the world, even as I am not of the world.

17 "Sanctify them in the truth; Your word is truth.

18 "As You sent Me into the world, I also have sent them into the world.

19 "For their sakes I sanctify Myself, that they themselves also may be sanctified in truth.

20 "I do not ask on behalf of these alone, but for those also who believe in Me through their word;

21 that they may all be one; even as You, Father, are in Me and I in You, that they also may be in Us, so that the world may believe that You sent Me.

22 Their Future Glory "The glory which You have given Me I have given to them, that they may be one, just as We are one;
Back to comment below

23 I in them and You in Me, that they may be perfected in unity, so that the world may know that You sent Me, and loved them, even as You have loved Me.

24 "Father, I desire that they also, whom You have given Me, be with Me where I am, so that they may see My glory which You have given Me, for You loved Me before the foundation of the world.

25 "O righteous Father, although the world has not known You, yet I have known You; and these have known that You sent Me;

26 and I have made Your name known to them, and will make it known, so that the love with which You loved Me may be in them, and I in them."

NASB

After reading Jesus' prayer, read the next few verses below. You will note, in John Chapter 18: verse 11, that Jesus was willing to drink the cup His Father had given Him. He knew what He was facing. The Bible says He was beaten beyond recognizing Him as a human being. Mel Gibson's "The Passion" shows the horrors of His death. Yet knowing the torturous death He was facing, Jesus prays that men be at peace with one another. His death would bring His love to us and His peace. Jesus is the son of God on earth showing the Father's love to the lost human race and our hopeless predicament. This is His desire, and this is why He did what He did - why He was willing to face the Cross for us. Jesus tells us clearly in Luke 9:21- 22 that He knew His mission and would accomplish His Father's will - to save humanity by dying on the Cross for us.

By accepting Christ, you receive the Holy Spirit who Jesus called the Comforter.

Luke 9:21- 22
21

Jesus warned them not to tell anyone about this.

22

"For I, the Son of Man, must suffer many terrible things," he said. "
I will be rejected by the leaders, the leading priests, and the teachers of religious law.
I will be killed, but three days later I will be raised from the dead,"

Matt 20: 22
22 But Jesus answered and said, Ye know not what ye ask.

Are ye able to drink the cup that I am about to drink?

They say unto him, We are able.

Reading along in The Book of John, one of the four Gospels of the life of Christ (Messiah) ....

John 18:1-11

1 Judas Betrays Jesus When Jesus had spoken these words, He went forth with His disciples over the ravine of the Kidron, where there was a garden, in which He entered with His disciples.

2 Now Judas also, who was betraying Him, knew the place, for Jesus had often met there with His disciples.

3 Judas then, having received the Roman cohort and officers from the chief priests and the Pharisees, came there with lanterns and torches and weapons.

4 So Jesus, knowing all the things that were coming upon Him, went forth and said to them, " Whom do you seek?"

5 They answered Him, "Jesus the Nazarene." He said to them, "I am He." And Judas also, who was betraying Him, was standing with them.

6 So when He said to them, "I am He," they drew back and fell to the ground.

7 Therefore He again asked them, " Whom do you seek?" And they said, "Jesus the Nazarene."

8 Jesus answered, "I told you that I am He; so if you seek Me, let these go their way,"

9 to fulfill the word which He spoke, " Of those whom You have given Me I lost not one."

10 Simon Peter then, having a sword, drew it and struck the high priest's slave, and cut off his right ear; and the slave's name was Malchus.

11 So Jesus said to Peter, "Put the sword into the sheath;

the cup which the Father has given Me, shall I not drink it?"

Jesus speaking to us in prophesy twelve hundred years
before His birth here on earth:
He is telling us what He would be facing as a man before the Cross.

Psalm 69: 3, 4
3 while I wait for my God.
4 ----------------------------------------
KJV

Jesus has restored what the Satan has stolen. But to be restored to right fellowship with God, and not go to hell which was prepared for the devil and his angels - hell was not created for the human race, one must be born again and made into a new creation.

Accept the work of the Cross - the work of restoration, so you can enter Heaven. Accept Jesus as the only way to 'Heaven'. This is what the Bible teaches us.

John 17:3
3

And this is life eternal, that they might know thee the only true God, and Jesus Christ, whom thou hast sent.

Escaping hell, entering into heaven, the forgiveness of sins, these statements concur with eternal life but do not describe what eternal life is.

John 17: 3 sums it up well: "knowing god ... Jesus Christ." Is this not true for those of us who love Him due to the knowledge that is beyond understanding ... the love of God dwelling within us after we have received Him as our Savior and Lord! Excuse my Christian vernacular here as I try to express the inexpressible Love of God that indwells the Believer once one has received Christ as Lord and Savior.

When we have fellowship the Holy Spirit blesses us, God pours out his Spirit over us. That communion with the Holy Spirit given to us by Christ is what we were made for. This is why Jesus died. He lived on this earth in a human form to do what was necessary so He could love us and eventually bring us to Heaven. He loves us unconditionally. This love is always there for the Christian and for anyone who seeks Him. He died for sinners. That means we are in good company since all men have failed and are in sin. So, this is a level playing field. God loves every human being regardless of who they are. He never intended for 1 single person to go to Hell!

Jesus foresaw people having difficulty in getting along specifically Christians in this case. The fellowship with Jesus can be quenched at times do to unfavorable circumstances between individuals. Prayer is so essential to overcoming hurts and miss-understandings. When we pray, The Lord changes us and our perspective on situations. This makes the circumstance better. Depend on the Vine (Jesus) for your source and not just the branches (other believers). We should not forsake assembling with other believers, but it is important that the emphasis is always on Jesus. Then all other things will be added... The Lord brings His presence into our lives and His peace is truly indescribable.

The only thing that separates us from God's love is our own striving away from His grace. In the beginning of our Christian walk, this happens to an extent. Rest assured in His grace. You will find out you will never reach perfection while in this body. The Bible says we will have a glorified body in the resurrection as indicated in Jesus' prayer above in verse 22 and as indicated below in the letter to the Church in Corinth. 1 Cor 15: 52-54 written by Paul the Apostle, Rabbi Shaul,.

Directly below we have Jesus' reign described.
The reign of Messiah (Christ) will begin after the Great Tribulation period as predicted within the Bible. He shall rule the earth. Yes. He will reign upon the earth for 1,000 years.
He is the King of Peace!

Psalm 72:1-19

8 He shall have dominion also from sea to sea, and from the river unto the ends of the earth.

9 They that dwell in the wilderness shall bow before him; and his enemies shall lick the dust.

10 The kings of Tarshish and of the isles shall bring presents: the kings of Sheba and Seba shall offer gifts.

11 Yea, all kings shall fall down before him: all nations shall serve him.

12 For he shall deliver the needy when he crieth; the poor also, and him that hath no helper.

13 He shall spare the poor and needy, and shall save the souls of the needy.

14 He shall redeem their soul from deceit and violence: and precious shall their blood be in his sight.

15 And he shall live, and to him shall be given of the gold of Sheba: prayer also shall be made for him continually; and daily shall he be praised.

16 There shall be an handful of corn in the earth upon the top of the mountains; the fruit thereof shall shake like Lebanon: and they of the city shall flourish like grass of the earth.

17 His name shall endure for ever: his name shall be continued as long as the sun: and men shall be blessed in him: all nations shall call him blessed.

18 Blessed be the Lord God, the God of Israel, who only doeth wondrous things.

19 And blessed be his glorious name for ever: and let the whole earth be filled with his glory; Amen, and Amen.
----------------------------------------
KJV

1 Corinthians 15:52-54

52 in a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trump: for the trumpet shall sound, and the dead shall be raised incorruptible, and we shall be changed.

53 For this corruptible must put on incorruption, and this mortal must put on immortality.

54 But when this corruptible shall have put on incorruption, and this mortal shall have put on immortality, then shall come to pass the saying that is written, Death is swallowed up in victory.
